Fellow Pension People! My name is Jason White and I am extremely excited to join you in the People for Pensions campaign as your new Community Lead.
A little about me.
I grew up in small-town Stratford, Ontario, before studying political science at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo. At Laurier I met my partner, Marley, and we now proudly call Toronto our home. Marley is a grade one teacher, which means we are among the shrinking percentage of Ontario families that are fortunate to have two defined benefit pension plans under one roof. The knowledge that we will have a secure, predictable income in retirement has allowed us to make decisions about our future that simply would not have been possible without the stability pensions provide.
Professionally, I spent the past seven years at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario where a great deal of my work focused on pension policy. During that time, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to meet with countless stakeholders and experts in the pension community and was always immensely impressed and inspired by the passion they shared for pensions. At OPTrust, I am thrilled to be able to continue to work with people that are passionate about pensions!
Now that you know a little bit about me, I look forward to getting to know you and why you joined People for Pensions. If you ever have questions, a story to share, or simply want to learn about different ways you can be involved, please don’t hesitate to give me a call or send me an email (my contact information can be found below). Thank you for joining the People for Pensions campaign, and I look forward to working together to spread the value of pensions!
